ONE HEALTH CLUB OF THAI BINH UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY JOINING THE NATIONAL ONE HEALTH OLYMPIC 2018

In the framework of activities of the fifth year, to create a playground for testing and raising relevant knowledge about One Health and practicing core competency to address health issues, the VOHUN Coordination Office held The National One Health Olympic for students from 13 student clubs from 20 member schools of VOHUN. The competition took place from March 24, 2018 to March 25, 2018 at Vietnam Agriculture Academy - Trau Quy, Gia Lam, Ha Noi.

With the agreement of TBUMP Party Committee – Managing Board, the Secretariat of the Student Association, the advice of the Public Health Faculty, 08 representative students of the One Health Club of TBUMP with the leading of Dr. Dang Thi Bich Thuy - Lecturer of Public Health Faculty to participate in the Olympic.

The contest consists of 2 main parts: on March 24, there were physical exercises, sports, music and teambuilding activities to associate students of member schools. The official contest on knowledge and skills about One Health took place on March 25. On the first day of the contest, the team of One Health Club of Thai Binh University of Medical and Pharmacy showed good performance with their dynamism, creativity and solidarity that they won high prizes in the tug of war competition, doing crosswords, music and teambuilding etc. On the day of the official competition on the knowledge and skills related to One Health such as: prevention of transmission diseases between animals and people, infectious diseases, climate change, food safety, resistance to antibiotics, etc. Students of member schools were divided randomly into 6 teams to create connections, solidarity and exchanges among schools. Despite whatever circumstances, all members of One Health Club of Thai Binh University of Medical and Pharmacy showed their dynamism, enthusiasm, skills, and knowledge which could have persuaded the jury of the competition.

Activities for the first competition day

After 2 days with a variety of activities, diverse knowledge and expertise with the preparation of all aspects as well as high determination, One Health Club of Thai Binh University of Medical and Pharmacy won the first prize, the most impressive prize in Club Introduction and many other personal awards, which made good impressions of students of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy to the Organizing Committee and students of 13 other universities in the One Health network

Participating in The National One Health Olympic 2018 with the highest achievement has also closed the series of programs of Youth’s Month 2018 and to welcome to 87th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Traditional Day. This opportunity has brought about lots of experience and knowledge for members of the club and makes them become more mature and active as well as makes a beautiful impression of the school image to students from all regions of the country. Furthermore, this is a significant activity towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Thaibinh University of Medicine and Pharmacy 1968 - 2018.
