STUDENT OF THAI BINH UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY PARTICIPATING IN THE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN SRI LANKA

With the agreement of the university’s Party Committee and Managing Board, Do Manh Tien, a student of Vietnamese Students’ Association of the Class YHDPK7 participated in Yowun Puraya The International Youth Festival from February 27th to April 2nd, 2018 which was organized by International Department of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
As one of the five national youth delegates participating in the program, Tien with the delegation participated in many cultural exchange activities with the presence of 6,000 Sinhalese youths and over 100 international youth delegates from many countries such as Australia, USA, Bangladesh, India, Japan, and Israel. The Vietnamese youth delegation discussed actively on social and political issues in the world, especially the development trends of young people adapting to the fourth industrial revolution. They also had discussions on solutions for employment and reducing the social evils among youths and students. Besides, participants of the program also participated in the talking exchange program with secondary school students in Etulkotte about career guidance and active living attitude, visiting many famous historical places in Sri Lanka as Yapahuwa Rock Fortress, Independence Memorial Hall, and Seema Malaka temple. These activities and sporting games helped increase the solidarity, cooperative spirit between the youths of the participated countries and the host country. Especially, the participants had opportunity to take part in the talk with the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister of Sri Lanka and the Chairman of Sri Lankan National Youth Council in a friendly atmosphere. The youth delegates have received the kindness and consideration of the host country leaders and their caring in organizing the program and the favorable ideas to start a business in this South Asian island in the coming time.
Do Manh Tien is a dynamic student of TBUMP with good ability to communicate in both English and Vietnamese. He is also an active member of the English Club, Young Scientist Club, and One Health Club. This exchange program is a great opportunity for him, thereby continuing to affirm the bravery and talents of TBUMP students with the goal of constant training, being creative, international integrating, being active in building and developing youth movements nationwide.
