SEMINAR ON THE HISTORY OF THE YOUTH UNION

In response to the Youth month and the Youth Union's 87th anniversary, at 5pm March 16th 2018, the Office of Youth Union and Student Union, Thaibinh University of Medicine and Pharmacy launched the seminar on "Understanding the history of the Youth Union" for Youth Union's grassroots officials.
Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union was founded on March 26th 1931, known as Indochina Communist Youth Union. The Party Central Committee emphasized that "... organizing the Communist Youth Union is to win the hearts of an important part of the proletarian class, is an urgent problem that must be solved by the Party.
Over 87 years of formation and development, the Youth Union, with the Party and people, has gone through the ups and downs of history and well-fulfilled its mission. In the history of the nation, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has different forms of struggle and tasks, and the name of the Union has also changed over time
1. Vietnam Communist Youth Union, Indochina Communist Youth Union; Over 87 years of formation and development, the Youth Union, with the Party and people, has gone through the ups and downs of history and well-fulfilled its mission. In the history of the nation, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has different forms of struggle and tasks, and the name of the Union has also changed over time
2. Indochina Democratic Youth Union;
3. Indochina Anti-Imperialist Youth Union;
4. National Salvation Youth Union;
5. Vietnam Labor Youth Union;
6. Ho Chi Minh Labor Youth Union;
7. Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
At the 4th Party Congress held from 14th to 20th December, 1976 in Hanoi, on the request of the Union members countrywide, the Party Congress decided to rename the Ho Chi Minh Labor Youth Union (1970) to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
The Party Congress noted the tasks and movements of the Youth Union in the new stage as “the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union must be built and well maintained in terms of politics, ideology and organizational structure so as to deserve being a socialist school of the youth as well as a reliable reserve force of the Party”.
Until now, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has been through 87 years with 8 congresses. The 11th National Communist Youth Union Congress has reached many decisions for the critical program in the new era. Therein, the congress approved the result of election for the 11th Executive Committee commencing from 2017 to 2022, with the total of 151 members. In the first congress, the 11th Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has elected 31 members to form the 11th Standing Committee, with Mr. Le Quoc Phong as the first Secretary of the 11th Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Executive Committee and 3 other members as the secretaries of the 11th Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Executive Committee.

At the 27th Communist Youth Union Congress of TBUMP, 21 members were elected to participate in the Executive Committee. Mr. Trinh Thanh Vinh, member of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of Thai Binh province, was elected as the Secretary of TBUMP Youth Union. TBUMP’s Youth Union has been cooperating with other organizations and associations of the University to make more achievements in national defense and national construction in many fields.
The seminar has recalled the heroic journey of our Youth Union and deepened the pride of the organization of the Youth Communists. The seminar is an occasion to propagandize the tradition of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to members in the whole school. It also makes a great contribution to congratulate the success of the 11th National Youth Union Congress, in response to the Youth Month and to celebrate the 87th Anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (from 26th March, 1931 to 26th March, 2018).
