Enhancing effects of academic and science research activites

In the afternoon of August 8th, 2017, Mr. Vinh Trinh (MA), Secretary of the Youth Union, Chairman of the Student Association initiated a discussion with the executive boards of 3 clubs including Active Learning Club (ALC), Youngsters’ Science Club (SYC) and Traditional Medicine Club (TMC) in the school year of 2017 – 2018
Talking about Traditional Medicine Club, Ms. Chinh Le, Vice President of TMC had reported about achievements in the school year 2016 – 2017, including 02 school programs, 25 academic topics, aggregating approximately 300 students from 06 classes. The programs such as Freshman Welcoming, Creativity Festival, topics about massage therapy, acupressure, face diagnosis – cybernetic therapy or communication, presentation skill enhancing topics etc. have attracted a great number of students. Especially, from 23rd  to 25th June 2016, the executive board took part in Youngsters with Traditional Medicine forum in Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, which is a meaningful activity to promote cooperation and experience exchange in order to develop the National Traditional Medicine Club system.

Under the guidance of the lecturers and staff of the Department of Scientific Management, Youngsters’ Science Club has held 35 weekly sessions, 14 methodology classes and 06 result report periods and registered 17 scientific research ideas (10 of which have been approved by the university's science council, 6 of which have been approved and 3 of which have been completed). The club has had 03 projects in the contest "National Student Science Research Award 2016"with 01 second prize and 02 consolation prizes.

Presenting the results of the school year of 2016 - 2017 of the Active Learning Club, Ms. Trang Nguyen, head of the club, reported on the highlights in the implementation of active learning and science researching. The club has organized 01 pediatric Olympic with the participation of 120 students from 28 classes, the best 12 of which participated in the final round. The club has guided the students 10 topics of medical knowledge in internal medicine, surgery, pharmacology, clinical pharmacy. Besides, the club has organized 18 classes of learning methods for new students taught by methodological instructors, two exchanges involving in-house resident physicians who were former members of the club to share their experiences and work orientation after graduation, guided and shared documents of 05 medical topics to help the students with easy access and effective application in learning.

Mr. Vinh Trinh, Secretary of the Youth Union, President of the Students' Association would like to acknowledge and commend the efforts of the boards of academic clubs. There have been many practical and beneficial topics, the Olympics, contests, method classes for members of the school. Emphasis on the application of information technology, positive learning methods, the use of medical information has been the new requirement.  It is necessary to equip good thought and understanding as well as the adequate preparation of each club. With the specificities in the activities, the clubs need to have specific exchange support, actively contact the lecturers of the school and expand the search and use of scientific methods in many universities around the country.
Scientific research needs to be further developed in terms of the number of research projects and the quality of content, and the attraction and refinement of research skills are significant in order to create the next generation of young students. Activities of traditional medicine should pay attention to the aspirations, the actual needs of learning and living of members, focusing on specialized knowledge classes in addition to the skills of practicing traditional medicine, search for the right resource for each object. The Active Learning Club need to promote the goals of developing and extending innovative learning methods, school -level academic contests with concentration on content and form of competition to create opportunities for many students to attend. The chairman of the association believes that the board of chairmen of the clubs will unite, be creative, flexible and brave to build up and develop the student movement of learning, creativity in scientific research, student movement of 5 Merits to join the School Student Association in excellent completion of the new school year tasks.
