Nguyen Quynh Trang, student of K44B, the president of the Club, and Dinh Khanh Linh, K45A student, instructed in the topic. This is the first topic of the 2017-2018 academic year to start August activities, which is one of a series of liver's topics. Liver, a large digestive organ, has an important role in metabolism, ensuring the physiological functions of the body. The president of the Club mentioned the main functions of the liver with glucose metabolism such as sugar reconstruction, glycogen breakdown and synthesis, degradation of insulin hormones and other hormones, the metabolism of protid with acid amines including de-carboxylation, deamination, amino exchange, protein synthesis, especially plasma protein. Liver also participates in lipid metabolism with fatty acid synthesis from glucid and protid and lipid degradation products. In addition, liver stores important substances such as blood, glucid, iron, vitamins of A, D, B12 groups. The function of bile secretion take effective part in digestion and absorbing food of the body. The liver is considered as a barrier to protect the body against the harmful elements that enter the body through digestive tract. At the same time, liver also reduces the toxicity and excretes some substances that are produced during the body's metabolism.
The hepatotoxic mechanism is done by both the Kupffer cell and the hepatocyte cell. Dinh Khanh Linh has used vivid images, diagrams of processes and physiological responses to help members of the club to understand and remember more easily and deeply. Linh said that in order to understand the physiological functions of the liver, it is necessary to learn the organs, the destination of the products produced in the liver, master the pathway of these products and important biochemical reactions. In the academic year 2017 - 2018, the Active Learning Club would promote collective experiences in developing active and creative learning movements, apply actively group work under the guidance of the lecturers and the attention and direction of the Youth Union, the Students Union in order to complete excellently the contents of the student programs of active learning, creativeness and scientific research”
