LAUNCHING A VOLUNTEER ENGLISH TEACHING PROGRAM IN THE ‘GREEN SUMMER’ OF 2018

The program had the attendance of Mr. Trinh Thanh Vinh, Secretary of the Youth Union, President of the Students' Association, members of the Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the Students' Association, Mr. Tran Duc Toan, Secretary from the Youth Union of Vu Thu district, representatives from the Association for Promoting Education of Vu Hoi commune, cadres of Vu Hoi Primary School, volunteers of English Speaking Club and nearly 60 students attending the class.
In the opening speech, Mr. Trinh Thanh Vinh, President of the Students' Association sincerely showed his thank for the coordination of the Standing Committee of Vu Thu's Youth Union, the support of the People's Committee and the Association for Promoting Education of Vu Hoi Commune. Volunteer English teaching program is one of the activities in Green Summer Campaigns of 2018 carried out by the Students' Association during the summer months under the direction of the Central Students' Association and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Thai Binh. The purpose is to develop and expand the foreign language learning movement, along with the promotion of English learning at the elementary level. Let the pupils have passion, love and have more motivation to learn English. Since English has been a necessary requirement for the young generation to equip themselves for the process of integrating into the world, especially in the Fourth Revolution. In the volunteer English teaching program, the Secretariat introduced students who had good knowledge and skills about learning English effectively. They are the active members of English Speaking Club, many of them have participated in international youth exchange programs in Sri Lanka, India, Japan. The Secretariat has combined with the Department of Foreign Languages to prepare the English materials for elementary students. With lessons about communication skills, the program provided the basic skills to ensure that the pupils can confidently introduce themselves and chat simply in English. Volunteer English teaching program would organize 2 classes for the students in Vu Hoi Commune and Nguyen Xa Commune, Vu Thu District, Thai Binh Province. With about 150 students, the volunteers would organize 16 classes in 4 weeks.
